Holly-Hunter

Holly Hunter was an American actress, who gained fame in the film Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles. She won several awards like an Oscar for the movie Piano. Her acting career began in Broadway through a myriad of Broadway and Off Broadway projects. Enthusiastic about acting from her school days she played Helen Keller in a play in fifth grade. Following a bout of Mumps, she was deaf on one side of her ears. This didn't stop her from pursuing her dream to pursue a career as an actress. When she was in college studying drama, she moved in New York City with her ambitions in mind. She met Beth Henley in an elevator and they worked together on Broadway Crimes of the Heart, Hunter's first film. When she moved into Los Angeles she tried to obtain film roles and was offered the role of a co-star in Swing Shift. In the three decades since she was a part of the film she has appeared in many films, television movies and series. Holly Hunter won a star at the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and also an award called the Women in Film Lucy Award.
